Hike #38 - Charleston State Park; or, "Green Earth Outdoors"

Hiking with Impunity was once again lucky enough to visit another state! Actually, over the week of April 23rd, we technically visited 3 states: Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee. Knowing that we would be spending almost a week in Kentucky, we decided that we wanted to spend part of our time hiking! And, since it was National Park Week, we were not going to pass up on the chance to see Mammoth Cave National Park (more on that later!). But, what we were most excited for was a chance to spend the day with Green Earth Outdoors!

Hike #29 - French Creek State Park (Mill Creek Trail); or, "It's Tough Being Clever When You're Swarmed by Bugs!"

Hiking French Creek State ParkHiking with Impunity returned to French Creek State Park in Elverson, Pennsylvania for a fourth time today. Whereas we had covered the Western portion of French Creek in our previously published hike from August 24th (see Hike #24), and had written about our brush with heat exhaustion while hiking the Boone Trail (see Hike #8 - "How to Get Heat Exhaustion without Really Trying"), today we hiked a loop that we pieced together using the Mill Creek and other trails in the eastern part of the state park.

We'll be bringing you full details from this hike soon. In the meantime, if you are one of the lucky people who found our calling card on the trail, click here (unless you see a comment box below), scroll to the bottom of the article, and post a comment -  let us know what day you found it, and what trails you took!

Hike #28 - Green Lane Park; or, "Here Comes the Sun..."

Hiking Green Lane ParkToday was three weeks to the day that we at Hiking with Impunity had been on a hike! Three long weeks! The persistent rainy weather we had been having coupled with our recently busy schedule obstructed us from being able to hit the trails.

But today there was sun. The temperature was a cool 70ish degrees, the skies were clear, and we were ready to hike. We decided to head back to Green Lane Park today - this time using the trails on the opposite side of the reservoir from where we had hiked before (see Hike #18). Amusingly, the last time we had been to Green Lane Park was after a streak of bad weather.

We'll be bringing you full details from this hike soon. For now, take a look at the picture on the left... It was a beautiful day!
